Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hawaiian Airlines.
Intern
The interviewer asked super specific questions about the company, like their mission statement and values. Make sure you know the organization and its values inside out. They also expect you to already want to be in Hawaii if you make it to the onsite part.
- How has your past experience aligned with our mission statement?
Intern
I had an online interview scheduled on Microsoft Teams. We mostly chatted about my experiences, interests, and details from my resume. The people I talked to were very friendly and easy to chat with, which made me feel comfortable.
- Questions about company fit were asked.
- We discussed my resume.
Intern
I applied online, and about a week later, a recruiter reached out to set up an initial phone call with another recruiter. After that, I spoke with the hiring manager. They told me to keep in touch with the recruiter for any updates. I followed up, and they said I'd hear back in a week, but I didn't. So, I followed up again two weeks later, but still no response. I was eventually sent an automated rejection email about a month later. I liked talking to people and learning about Hawaiian Airlines, but the whole recruiting process felt unprofessional.
- Can we start with some casual conversation?
- Could you tell me about the skills you possess that are required for this role?
- Do you have any behavioral questions for me?
