First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hawaiian Airlines.
Customer Service Agent
Applied online on Saturday and got an email on Sunday. Was invited to a group interview 6 days after applying, and scheduled the next interview 3 days after that. The second interview was the very next day, and the final interview is set for a week after the second one. The initial group interview was a blast! Arrived super early, signed in, got name tags while waiting for everyone. When it started, we were split into 2 groups of about 14 each and taken to separate rooms. There were 4 panelists from different departments like customer service and HR, plus one person explaining the process. For the group interview, we stood up, introduced ourselves with our name and favorite food. Then we split into 4 smaller groups of 3-4 for two group activities. The first activity focused heavily on communication, with observers taking notes. We had about 10 minutes for this. It involved a 'looker' who could see the task, a 'runner', and a 'builder'. The looker described to the runner, who then described to the builder. Only the builder could touch anything, and they were turned away, unable to see. It was a really cool team activity! Afterwards, they asked if we knew some of Hawaiian Airlines' values. The winning group got to pick a core value from their website and then had to act out a scenario demonstrating that value with their group members. We had about 4 minutes to prep for the presentation. The interviewers really liked scenarios related to the job we were applying for. We were thanked and told we'd hear back by 5 pm if we moved on. The interview the next day had 2 interviewers. They asked about my customer service experience from my resume and my computer skills, advising us to use examples. They also reminded us about the importance of being on time and available when needed.

It was a 2-part interview process. Day 1 was a group screening with 12 people. We sat in a semi-circle, introduced ourselves, and then did an individual exercise where we picked cards with different scenarios and had to explain how we'd handle them. This seemed to test our quick thinking. Then we did a group exercise where we prioritized more scenarios to see how well we work together. They explained the job and said we'd get an email that evening about moving to the second part. I got an invite back for the final screening. Day 2 was the final screening with a 2:1 interview. We went over my resume, and I was given more scenarios and typical interview questions. I'm not sure how I did because one interviewer seemed to be nodding off, but I didn't say anything. Now I'm just waiting to hear if I'm chosen for the pool.
- Can you share an instance of a disagreement you had with a coworker or manager, and describe how you addressed it?
Customer Service Agent
I first applied online and heard back in three days to set up an interview. The initial interview was a group setting with the Assistant manager and four other agents. Then, the next week, I had a second interview with seven other people, including two agents who were interviewing and someone noting things down. We all introduced ourselves, and then we were given an island to describe what a traveler should see there, and I also had to answer a question about how I'd deal with a tough customer.
- Can you introduce yourself and share a word that starts with the first letter of your name that describes you?
- How would you handle a difficult customer?
- Imagine a customer is traveling to a specific island; what would you recommend they check out there?
