Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hawaiian Airlines.
Analyst
The interview process involved multiple in-person interviews and sessions, in addition to several phone interviews. It started with an HR interview, then moved to interviews with the Manager and Director, and concluded with a panel interview. The entire process was quite quick, and I got the results right away.
- What qualities define a successful Analyst?
Analyst
It started with a phone screen from HR, then a computer-based test covering maths, logic, and critical thinking. After that, there were a few rounds of interviews, mostly case interviews mixed with behavioral questions. I had to wait for weeks between rounds. For one position, the director and VP were present, along with another analyst who asked a lot of technical questions to verify my resume claims.
- You are given a business case with some information, and you need to determine if it is a good decision.
- You need to ask them more questions to identify the real question.
- They just wanted to see the way you think and how organized and logical you are.
Analyst
I had to fly many hours to and from Honolulu for the in-person interviews. After 6 hours of interviewing, I returned home. After a week and a half I got an automated email saying that I wasn't getting the job. It's ridiculous that after putting in so many hours of effort going through the interview process, the recruiter didn't even have the decency to reach out to contact me directly.
