Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hartford HealthCare.
Registered Nurse
The hiring process was super fast. After I applied online, they called me to set up an interview and a chance to shadow with the manager of the unit. The interview itself was about 30 minutes, and then I spent a few hours shadowing.
- What motivates you to seek employment at Hartford Healthcare?
Registered Nurse
I first had a phone call with the floor manager. Then I went in for an in person interview with the floor manager and assistant manager. Finally, the floor manager called me with an offer, and I got the offer in an email.
- What is one skill you could improve on?
Registered Nurse
I had a panel interview with a group of interviewers. It seemed like managers and maybe one person from the floor were there. They asked questions from a worksheet, mostly behavioral type questions like "tell me about a time you faced a challenge and how you dealt with it."
- Most questions were standard nursing interview questions, likely from a company manual, designed to assess how a candidate would handle difficult situations.
- Having a few stories ready about challenging patients and coworkers would be beneficial.
