Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Harrison Street.
Intern
The process was 2 rounds, the first with analysts and the second with MDs at the company. Mainly behavioral, walk me through your resume interviews. The entire process was around 3 weeks long.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in ______ at Harrison Street?
Intern
Had a really good time interviewing, folks were nice. 3 person first round might be intimidating for some. 3 rounds total including a phone screen. First was a 15 min screener covering why real estate, why Harrison, and other basic job questions. Second was a 30 min zoom call with questions on why real estate, why Harrison, weaknesses, and 1-2 basic real estate metric techs (CoC return, equity multiple, DSCR). Last round was with a VP+ and more technical, but not overly so.
- Can you explain your interest in real estate?
- What makes you want to work at Harrison?
- Describe a situation and outline your proposed course of action, considering various timeframes.
Returnship Program
The interview process was pretty standard and mostly behavioral. After it was done, nobody replied, so I had to follow up. I was then told the position was on hold, but I'm not sure if that's really why.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- Would you be open to relocating for this role?
