Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Harris Teeter.
Manager
It was a straightforward process, very informative and direct. They asked a lot of questions about my previous employer, and frankly, they went above and beyond what I'd expect from typical interviews. I'd definitely interview with them again if I had the chance. It's a reputable company with benefits that offer great rewards.
- How old were you in the previous year?
Management Assistant
I spoke with the Corporate Recruiter/Trainer on Tuesday and she asked about my past leadership experience and skills. She then set up a time with the DM to interview. I met with the DM on Friday and he asked about my experience and said the Recruiter would be in touch next week. I got the offer that following Tuesday.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a conflict with a coworker and how you handled it.
Assistant Manager
The interview started off poorly. The recruiter on the phone seemed unaware of the store I applied to, causing confusion and a pause in the interview until she eventually located it. It felt unprofessional, like she was just going through the motions. I hope the hiring manager is aware of this confusion.
- Can you describe your previous managerial experience?
