So I went for the HSBC Software Developer interview via campus placement. First, there was an online coding test with 2 questions — one about string decoding and the other about array logic. After passing that, I had two rounds. The first was a technical round where they focused on Java, DSA, and database concepts. Then came the HR round where they asked scenario-based questions, talked about my resume projects, and checked my communication and thought process. The whole thing was pretty structured and felt candidate-friendly.

So, how the interview process usually goes is you first apply, right? Send in your resume and cover letter. Then, HR does a quick check to see if you've got the basic stuff needed. After that, there's usually a phone or video chat to talk about you and why you're interested. For tech jobs like this one, they'll probably give you some coding challenges or a take-home project to check your skills. For other jobs, it might be case studies or something similar. Then, the actual interviews start: HR will look at your personality and if you're a good fit. The technical interview is all about your tech knowledge. They'll also ask behavioral questions to see how you handle work stuff. Sometimes, you'll have a panel interview with people from different teams. Lastly, there might be a final interview with a manager to seal the deal.

In the interviews, they might ask you stuff about your final year project to see how you work and your technical chops. They'll probably ask about what you were trying to do, any bumps in the road, what you used, and what happened in the end. Also, they could hit you with questions about OOP stuff like classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and abstraction. These are super important for making software that's organized and can be reused and managed easily, which is key for big apps.

So for the Trainee Analyst role at Axxela Advisory Services LLP, the process usually goes like this: First, there's an Aptitude Test covering quantitative stuff, logic, and fast math. Then, a Simulation or Practical Test to check your trading skills, how you analyze markets, and make calls when things get hectic. After that, a Technical Interview focusing on financial markets, trading tactics, and managing risks. Lastly, a Behavioral Interview to see how you handle teamwork, responsibility, and your drive for this particular role.
