First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Harding Retail.
Human Resources Intern
The interview process involved a single round where I spoke with the hiring manager and the current intern. They asked me questions about HR and my past experiences. I also got to ask them questions to learn more about the role and team. It was a bit unclear what they were looking for specifically.
- What improvements would you suggest for Harding's existing HR procedures?
Recruiter
Had 2 interview rounds. The final interview started late and there was no reception area which made it awkward to find the interviewer. Communication was really slow, and their words didn't match their actions. I was disappointed because it seemed promising, but I can't trust what they say.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Sales Associate
So first I had to do this take home thing where I recorded answers to some questions. Then, I had a 1:1 meeting on Teams. The questions in that meeting were mostly about sales, but pretty easy if you have retail experience. They said I got through to the final stage, which is a 2.5 hour group interview on Teams. They're gonna be looking at leadership and teamwork skills. I'm a bit nervous but excited! Tips: Be friendly and chatty. Talk about your past retail work, they really care about that. They weren't too bothered I don't have sales experience, I told them I want to learn. Research the company, it really helps! And just be you. Good luck!
- Tell me about your previous retail experience or how long you've worked in retail.
- If a customer walked into your store, what would be your greeting and how would you encourage them to buy something?
- Describe a real situation you encountered and how you handled an unhappy customer.
Retail Associate
It was a really long interview process. First, there was a recorded interview with four questions. You had to talk about your work experience, something you love, what you know about Harding, and why you want to work there. Each answer had a 1-minute time limit, and you only got two tries with 15 seconds to prepare. If you passed that, you moved to a one-on-one interview where they asked a lot of questions. Be ready! They’ll ask about your experience, sales, upselling, which brand describes you and why, a special thing you did for a client, why you're a good fit, how you handle stress, and difficult clients. Finally, there was a 2-hour group interview, which was more formal, with a presentation about the company and life onboard.
- What brand resonates with you and why?
- Tell me about something you are passionate about.
- Could you explain what upselling is?
