I had a great initial conversation with the hiring manager. Following that, I went through four interviews with other team members. Three of these went really well, but the interview with the director was problematic. They asked a question that didn't make sense, and I didn't feel my answer satisfied them. The outcome was an immediate rejection, which I found disappointing given the positive feedback from the other three interviews. I suspect the director might not have fully understood the technical aspects.

I talked to 7 different people over 3 weeks and had to turn in a sample project charter. Then I just got a generic rejection email. It would have been nice to get some real feedback after putting in so much work. I had to go over my background with everyone, which was pretty repetitive. They never even talked about the writing sample.

This interview process is quite long, taking around 2-3 months from start to finish. However, it's definitely worth the effort because it ensures a good match for both the company and the candidate. You can expect about 7-10 interviews, each lasting around 30 minutes, spread over 3-4 different days. It's probable you'll be invited for an onsite visit to meet with the leadership relevant to your position, though I can only confirm this based on my own experience.

Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, I submitted my application, and then had a 30-minute phone interview with a VP. I thought the call went well with good conversation and flow, but after a week, I didn't hear back. Any emails I sent after that didn't lead to any actionable steps. Based on what others have said, if you don't hear back within a week or the process isn't quick, don't expect feedback; you'll likely get ghosted. It's sad it's a poor experience, but it suggests overworked HR and a lack of communication between departments.
