Store Manager
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and setting up the interview was straightforward. The interview itself felt good; I was asked three management-related questions, and we also went over my past work experience. After the interview, I was given the District Manager's contact information and told to expect to hear back in four days, with instructions to contact the recruiter if I didn't. I didn't hear from the DM, so I followed up with the recruiter, but still no response. I sent another follow-up email a week later and didn't receive any reply. I never got a rejection notification either.
- Can you share your approach to building a strong team?
- Describe how you handle recognizing your team members.
Assistant Store Manager
The hiring process is entirely online and can be quite fast, depending on the hiring manager. It includes one phone interview and then a personal interview. They ask standard questions. You have to pass a background check, though it's pretty vague. No drug test. The amount of training you get depends on the store manager. They now use computers for training on basic procedures. The rest of the training comes from experienced employees or a manager. Usually, it's a couple of days of process training, and then you're just thrown in to see if you can manage.
- Given what you know about this role now, what makes you a good fit?
Store Manager
The first interview was with the store manager, and it went for about an hour. They asked me about my previous retail experience, my leadership skills, and my knowledge of HFT products. The second interview involved both the store manager and their boss, the district manager. This part focused heavily on the company culture and whether I would be a good fit.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with an employee issue.
- Can you share an example of how you resolved a customer problem?
