Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Harbor Freight Tools.
Sales
It was a pretty straightforward interview process. Typical interview Q&A. A lot of part-time talks; I wouldn't expect too much full-time work offered at this location. Overall, the business seemed nice.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult situation.
Sales Supervisor
A company recruiter reached out to me, and I was interviewed by the field manager the very next day. I accepted the opportunity and was sent home to complete an online background check. After about four days, a corporate offer letter arrived via email, allowing me to accept or reject the job based on the offered compensation and hours. Once accepted, a call from local management confirmed my start date. I began working about four days after accepting the offer.
- Of the positions they mentioned I might be qualified for, which one would you be most comfortable doing and why?
- Can you tell me what qualifications you have for those duties?
Sales Supervisor
I went to a small management room for the interview. I spoke with the assistant manager and then vaguely talked to the store manager. They asked me a series of questions, and the answers they were looking for seemed to be very basic and simple.
- What do you think motivates employees?
