First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Harbor Compliance.
Compliance Analyst
If you get selected, you'll have 2 interviews. First, a phone screening with basic questions about the company, your background, and salary. Then, you'll have a more formal interview with two hiring managers who have different personalities. They'll talk about Harbor Compliance's values, mission, and history, and then go into more detail about the role. They'll ask you about 5-7 questions from their computers. Be prepared, it's a lot of work here and no two days are the same, so if you don't like to work hard, this probably isn't the place for you. They're looking for long-term, hard-working employees and only hire about 1-2% of applicants. At the end, you can ask questions. Oh, and a heads-up, if they talk about 'company values' at the very end, it means you didn't get the job.
- What characteristic do you wish you didn't possess?
- How do you manage your workload and prioritize tasks?
- What kind of work atmosphere do you prefer?
Compliance Analyst
So, a recruiter from Talent Tap reached out about the Compliance Analyst role. We did a video call where she told me more about the job and the company, and looked over my resume. Then, I had another video chat with an HR rep at Harbor. She seemed really nice and easy to talk to. I asked if the job involved client interaction, and she definitely said no, but mentioned some document gathering from clients, not in person though. I thought it went well, so I was surprised when the Talent Tap recruiter texted saying I wasn't moving forward because the role was more client-facing than they thought. This didn't match what the Harbor rep said, so I asked Talent Tap for more info. The recruiter said she and her boss would set up a call with Harbor Compliance. The only other update was that Harbor went with another candidate. Even without an offer, I'd have rated this positively if not for the big mismatch between what I was told about the role and the reason I was rejected.
- What aspects of your current job do you find most appealing?
- What motivated your interest in Harbor and this specific position?
Compliance Analyst
Applied via Monster. Had a phone interview with HR that was about 30 mins, mostly about personality and future goals. Then was invited to schedule a full interview with the two team leads. This was more in-depth, focusing on my experiences and how I'd handle different situations with open-ended questions and follow-ups. Got an offer the next morning.
- What would you do if you were given a project that you had no prior knowledge of?
