Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hanover Research.
Business Development Associate
I had a good first chat with the recruiter. They told me about what's next: two more interviews in the coming week, a potential start date, and a timeline. I never heard back to set up the next interview though. I emailed them but only got an automated rejection message days later. It was a bummer to not have follow-through after it seemed like things were going well. My advice: don't get too excited with this company.
- Can you share your background and experience?
Business Development Associate
The hiring process was pretty fast. I submitted my resume, a writing sample, and a cover letter via an employee referral. HR reached out the very next day. The initial phone screen wasn't too tough. The HR person really connected with me, explained what Hanover does, and outlined the next steps. After that, I went into the office for three rounds of interviews. First, I met with two current associates. Then, I shadowed an associate at her desk for a bit. Finally, I interviewed with the head of the associate team. Everyone I met was super nice and welcoming. There weren't any curveball questions.
- What motivates your interest in sales?
- What is it about Hanover that appeals to you?
Business Development Associate
So, there were 3 interviews in total. The first one was a phone call, just checking the basics like why I want to get into sales and about my past work. Then, about a week later, I had a one-on-one chat with an associate. After that, it was a panel interview, which honestly felt more like a wild initiation than a real job interview. I actually hoped they wouldn't hire me after that one.
- What drives you to work in sales?
- What is your understanding of sales work?
- What motivates you in working in sales?
