Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hanna, Brophy, MacLean, McAleer & Jensen, LLP.
Associate Attorney
It wasn't a long process. It was very casual. I met with two recruitment attorneys who asked me about my personality and experience. Neither of them worked at the office where I had my interview. The whole thing took about 30 minutes.
- Could you explain why you worked at your previous job and what your responsibilities were?
Associate Attorney
The interview process varies a lot by office. At ours, it was pretty bad. Sometimes, the partners who do the interviewing wouldn't even be in the office when they were scheduled to meet with candidates. They'd cancel interviews at the last minute. It's just not a consistent process. Nepotism is also an issue.
- Do you have what it takes to be a dedicated employee?
- Do you present yourself well?
Associate Attorney
It was a friendly interview process. After applying, they sent an email requesting a screening interview with the recruiter. That initial call went well. They were responsive and kept me updated on my application status throughout.
- What kind of work environment are you seeking?
