I talked to and met with the District Sales Manager and the District Operations Manager. We went over my work history and they asked me behavioral questions like, "In x situation, how did you respond?". They seemed to be okay with the initial salary I proposed. I had two more interviews and then got an offer for $25k/yr less, with no flexibility on the salary. The pay is below the average for this location's history, and even though I have over 10 years of management/financial/sales management experience, I was informed that they highly value specific Retail Banking Experience, and without it, I can't negotiate the offer.

I applied online and got a call to set up a recruiter phone screen, which seemed to go well. Then, the recruiter set up another phone interview, this time with the hiring manager. That chat was pretty conversational, touching on a lot of my past experience related to this job. It was supposed to be an hour but got cut short. I was still feeling good about it, but as time went on, I got the feeling they might have looked at more people and maybe went with someone who applied later. I kept following up, but finally heard back that someone else got the offer. I asked for feedback, but didn't get any clear reasons why I wasn't chosen. It felt like things other than my qualifications might have played a part. So, while the interviews were interesting, not getting the job and not really knowing why was frustrating.
