I interviewed with the property manager company's representative and the sister property's general manager. They were nice and answered everything I asked. It was a good and useful interview. They let me know right away if I was moving forward.

The interview process seemed standard at first, with my extensive hotel management experience and passion for the industry being presented to Capital One Hotel Group, Inc., and it seemed to work well as I got a job offer within 48 hours of my single interview. However, I got a verbal job offer on the phone from the same interviewer after a background check, discussing salary, benefits, start date, and training. I was promised a formal offer package by email, but after three days of no response to my calls, texts, and emails to two company officers, I realized it was my fault. I had mentioned my same-sex marriage at the end of the phone call. Three days later, the job offer was formally rescinded via text. It's insulting for a hotel company that claims to support diversity to rescind an offer based on personal views. I hope this helps others looking for a diverse environment, as this is not it.

The interview position was basically a phone screening then a group interview. I got the job offer after two weeks of reference checks and background check. I started one week after the offer as they had to terminate the previous GM.
