For Engineering Manager, there are several stages. First, a recruiter screens you to check your personality, confirm your resume, make an assumption on your level, and check if your English is adequate. Then, a phone call interview with a Director of Engineering, to determine if you are on a manager track or individual contributor track. After that, there are two Technical Rounds, evaluated by an architect, another engineering manager, or an SDE-3, to determine if your technical skill is at SDE-3 level. Finally, a Hiring Manager Round, with a Director of Engineering, to check your people management skill, your personality, and if you are a culture fit to the company.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • In the technical rounds, you'll be asked Java technical questions and to design a system (note: database design is important here).
  • In the hiring manager round, they will go through your resume, checking reasons for leaving and your achievements.

First up was a cultural fitment round that basically looked at my resume. Then came the L1 Technical Round, which was all about my experience. After that, the L2 Technical Round kicked in, which was a more detailed technical discussion, focusing on architecture. Next, I had an HR round. Following that was the HM (Hiring Manager) round. Finally, we got to the offer discussion.
