I applied twice, once a few years ago and then again in September. The first time I applied I think I applied too late and didn't get a call back even though I thought the interview went well. The second time I applied, they were already open and I got called for an interview. I showed up 15 minutes early and saw other people there for the same thing. It turned out to be a group interview and we had to wait about 30-40 minutes for everyone to arrive. They should have started on time with those who were there. The interview went okay and I got a callback, but my son accidentally rejected it. I called back and she hung up, then I called again thinking it was an accident, and then she rejected it.

Had a short phone call where they asked if I was interested in a General Manager role. I said yes, but I couldn't select it on the website, which is a common glitch for them. Then I went in for an in-person interview with the Market Manager. The Market Manager mostly stuck to the interview script. After I got the job and started interviewing people for associate positions, I had specific questions to ask and expected answers.

I was first reached out to and had a phone interview for a Market Manager role in July. Then I had a personal follow-up interview in mid-August. Although that MM position went to someone else, I let them know I was also interested in a store role. Having more retail experience (apparel experience is a plus) and wanting to be surrounded by Halloween stuff is a big help. I started working late August with a 2-day training, and after some delays, I got my store in early September.

There was a sign on the door asking to email availability and a number. I did that and was contacted by the general manager to schedule an interview. The interview wasn't terribly hard; asked things like have you worked retail, how would you deal with a difficult customer, etc. I got called back a week later with an offer and filled out some paperwork.
