Mechanical Engineer
So the interviewers are gonna chat about the company, the different departments, and like, where you could go career-wise. Then, you'll talk about yourself and share your skills that fit the company. After that, they'll hit you with some technical questions.
- Tell me about technical aspects of your past projects.
- Discuss technical details relevant to the job scope.
Mechanical Engineer
Had an initial virtual chat with the hiring manager and some leads, which was super chill and relaxed. Then, a couple of weeks later, I had an in-person interview with the wider team. One person was a bit much, interrupting and assuming things about my career change. The others were quiet and didn't add much. I noticed a lack of diversity and workplace energy. I asked about what's next and got no reply until a generic email weeks later saying I didn't get the job. It was pretty different from other companies I've interviewed with.
- What's prompting your move to a new industry?
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Had 3 interviewers asking standard questions. The interview went for 2 hours++. The HR asked for my current payslip to prove my current job pay. They rejected me directly without any reasons given, even after I wrote to them. They were rude and poor in handling the job offer rejection. This part needs improvement. At least HR should inform candidates why they are rejected, not just ignore queries.
- In your opinion, where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
- Do you have any experience with new qualification processes?
