It was a pretty messy interview process. Initially, one person gave an intro, which included a presentation and interview questions based on it. Then, two interviewers came and went during the interview. A third person joined at the very end. I found myself being asked the same questions multiple times. I'd say the whole interview lasted about 3 hours.

I applied for a Graduate Account Executive role, and HR reached out to offer me an interview for a Marketing Executive position instead, as they thought it was a better fit for my background. It was great to actually hear back, unlike many places. The interview process was really smooth. First, I met with the Marketing Manager, had a quick chat, and was given a task: a grammar check and a 200-word summary of a blog post from their site. After that, I interviewed with the Marketing Manager again, and then with the Head of Design. The questions were direct, asking about my skills, experience, knowledge of the company, and what I could contribute. The next stage involved meeting the marketing team for a casual coffee chat. They asked me to bring along samples of my creative work, especially social media projects. The team seemed really friendly, and it felt like it went well. I got an offer four days later, which I accepted.

This was a disorganized interview process. I was told the role was urgent due to attrition and hiring issues. Before the interview, I was warned that there were issues with HR hires. The interview itself was 2 hours long and included impromptu meetings with the business and the CEO. This meant I couldn't prepare as much as other candidates. The meeting with the CEO was rushed and felt like I had to prove I wasn't just a box-ticking HR person who over-promised and under-delivered. The CEO made it clear that training and employer brand are important. I was asked what I was told the role was, making me question if they were clear on what they were recruiting for. It wasn't a constructive meeting. After this, it took two weeks to get feedback, and they mentioned rethinking the role. It's important to define the role before looking for candidates.

The interview process went smoothly at first. I communicated via email with someone briefly before the in-person interview, which happened about 3 weeks later. I thought it was a good opportunity, but after the interview, I felt differently. The interviewers seemed really dead and unenthusiastic. I'm not sure if they were just having a long day or if that's their personality, but they were all monotone, expressionless, and flat. Also, they were unprepared. I spoke with 4 different people, and they didn't seem to have any actual questions planned other than 'tell me about yourself.' This led to many awkward silences as they tried to think of another question. Overall, it seemed unorganized and unprofessional.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you tell me about yourself?
  • What are your two greatest strengths and weaknesses?
  • I'm going to have you look over a presentation and circle all of the errors, which will check for your 'attention to detail' skills. This will take about 20 minutes.
