Behavioral Technical

Standard interview process, I had two interviews, both with two different members of the research team. Each interview was about 30 minutes, mostly behavioral questions, but they did ask some technical ones too, like about how I'd approach pitching a stock.

Behavioral Technical Case

Three rounds: First, a short interview to gauge your interest and briefly discuss your resume. Second, a similar interview that goes more in-depth into your background and skills. Third, a "Super day" with numerous in-depth interviews across the whole team and a short case study. This isn't a terribly difficult interview process if you know why you are interested in investing and have a good answer for how Hall Capital fits your career goals. The firm is mostly looking for people who will be good learners and will probably enjoy the job, not necessarily the most financially skilled or experienced candidate.

Behavioral Case Presentation

So coming out of college, I wasn't sure what I wanted, but this interview process showed me it was a great opportunity with great people. We did a first round one-on-one with an associate, then a second round with two analysts. The final round was a well-run super day mostly with MDs, and it included a short case study. It was super organized and gave me a chance to show who I am and learn about the company and role.
