Graduate Trainee
First, there's an aptitude test that includes numerical testing and a video interview. If you pass that, HR will get in touch to set a date for the assessment. The assessment itself has a group interview for 25 minutes and then an individual interview for 10 minutes.

First, there's an assessment, and then there's a HireVue. For the HireVue, they ask why your background and experience make you a good fit and what your biggest challenge is. You can answer in English, Mandarin, or Cantonese; there's a language requirement you need to know about.

Graduate Trainee
Applied via email in Sept 2018, and the whole thing took 7 months, ending with an offer in May 2019. First, there was a written test which included multiple-choice questions (simple math, verbal comprehension, and logic) and an essay asking about your potential in the Graduate Trainee role at HAECO. Then, a group assessment with two airframe services managers and an L&D manager. This involved a group discussion where we introduced ourselves and our backgrounds, and then discussed how to distribute tasks and a timeline for planning the HAECO annual dinner. Next was a group task to design and build a symbol/exhibit for the dinner using plastic chips, focusing on problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. After that, an individual task where we had to pick a word from an envelope, prepare for 30 seconds, and give a 2-3 minute speech. This was followed by a panel interview with the same two airframe services managers and the L&D manager. It started with self-introductions, then questions based on my CV and typical interview questions like future goals, prioritization, and reasons for joining HAECO. The final stage was a Director's Panel Interview with the HR Director and the L&D manager. It began with self-introductions, then a more casual chat about passions and goals, possibly some technical questions based on the CV, and finally, identifying aircraft outside.
- You mentioned trying something and not liking it; what if you worked as an Engineer and found you didn't like it?
