First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hack The Box.
Business Development Representative
First, I applied on LinkedIn. Then, I had to do a self-recorded video talking about three specific topics they sent me, plus complete a personality and attention assessment. After that, I interviewed with the BDR Team Lead. Next up was a prospecting assignment for the BDR role, which I had to present to the BDR Team Lead and a Sr. Sales Ops Exec. The final step was an interview with the SVP of Revenue, and then I got the offer.

Business Development Representative
The interview process was well-organized and moved at a regular pace. After applying, you'll go through several stages, including a self-recorded video interview, a few chats with directors or leaders in your area of interest, and possibly a third call where you'll do a role-related exercise, like a mock prospecting activity. The whole thing usually finishes with a final alignment call. Everyone I talked to was knowledgeable and friendly, and the discussions felt conversational. They also regularly gave helpful feedback after each step, making the experience feel supportive and clear.
- Could you tell me about the metrics or quotas you've handled in previous jobs?
- What does your usual prospecting process entail?
Business Development Representative
The interview process was quite engaging and positive overall. It involved 5 distinct steps, which included completing an assignment and finishing with two meet-and-greet interviews. Every interview gave a really good impression, and the communication with everyone involved was super fast and responsive. The interviewers were all really nice and asked a mix of technical, background, and soft skill questions. I'm really pleased with how it all went!
- What are your short-term and long-term career aspirations?
