Had two Zoom calls with the SAP Manager, the first one was introductory and the second one was more technical. Then, there was a 3-hour in-person interview with 5 people, including the CIO, the hiring manager, and 3 team members. They made their decision 5 days after the interview and let me know they passed, mentioning they also passed on the other candidate they were considering.

The online interview process for an e-commerce specialist role is a carefully structured and efficient way to identify the best candidates from a diverse pool of talent. It also gives candidates the chance to showcase their confidence and expertise in the e-commerce domain.

I met with Haas recruiters at my university’s career fair, and was offered a chance to interview over Zoom. I did not get offered the interview until a few days after the career fair, after I had applied for the position online. I spoke with 3 senior engineers in my Zoom interview, and it was very casual. They did not ask any of the typical interview questions. Instead they focused on my previous projects, class work, hobbies, and experience. They pulled up my online project portfolio and shared the screen so that I was able to show off some of my projects and speak about them. The interview went well, but I was not offered the position.

Applied online via LinkedIn. Recruiter reached out about a week later to set up a video call with the testing manager, software test supervisor, and electrical hardware supervisor. They also gave me some pre-interview questions covering testing, electrical concepts, and problem-solving approaches. The video interview lasted over an hour. Surprisingly, the recruiter contacted me the next day to arrange a second, in-person interview at their facility the following week. I drove three hours for this interview, which lasted two hours and involved the same three interviewers. I was given a different set of questions to prepare for this one. After the interview, I got a tour of the facility, which was really cool. I saw the testing area and some of the machines they are developing. I feel like I really stumbled during the second interview. I had thought about some of the questions, but I was concerned about over-explaining my solutions, so the interviewers ended up guiding me through each one. This whole process was a valuable learning experience. I don't expect an offer, but seeing the facility and going through this process has inspired me to keep searching for roles in the automation industry. Good luck, you'll do great!
