The interview process was pretty standard. They asked general questions about my studies and career goals. I got some info about the job duties. Then they offered me the position and I accepted.

This place is not good for students or recent grads. All the job titles are misleading because everyone does the same thing: sell credit cards at Canadian Tire. The first round was a joke with just 3 simple questions about yourself. Then, you're brought in as a group to learn they only make employees get people to sign up for Canadian Tire credit cards. They make you do a long personality quiz and then you interview with another recruiter who explains the process and why you want to work for them. The recruiter explains the pay is $400 weekly plus $20 per card sold. If you don't sell 20 cards, you still get $400, which is less than minimum wage if you work over 37.5 hours. Training is not paid and lasts 3-5 days. They also don't pay for transportation to the store. This job doesn't teach marketing or business management. They hire anyone because people leave constantly. It was a waste of time for two interview days to find out it was a bad commission-based job.

I sent in my application a few months back and got a call the very next day to see if I'd be interested in coming in for an interview. When I arrived at the office in Mineola, I was really taken aback. The place was quite small, looked a bit run down, and the waiting area had a table that was falling apart, held together with tape. It was a sort of speed interview setup, and there were about 5 other people waiting alongside me. Everyone seemed nice enough, but the interview itself felt a bit strange. They only asked me around 4 questions. I felt like I already knew this wasn't the job for me just from the state of the office, so I didn't really put much effort into my answers. However, I did get a call later that same day about a second interview... but I turned it down. The whole environment just felt unprofessional and something was off. There were only 3 people physically in the office when I was there, and when I asked about the total number of employees, I was told 50... so I'm not sure where the other 47 people were.
