First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at H&H.
Structural Engineer
I met with the office manager and inspection manager. We talked about my interests and some graduate school courses I took. They also explained the bridge inspection work they do in the Mid-Atlantic. After that, they showed me around the office and introduced me to some staff and engineers. However, their interactions with others felt a bit off, and some engineers seemed hesitant to engage, which gave me the impression of potential low office morale due to internal politics.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Structural Engineer
It was pretty relaxed. I only met with the office manager and my future supervisor. They mainly asked background and personality questions. The guys were friendly and introduced me to the other staff. They gave me a little paper quiz at the end where I had to draw some sketches, but it wasn't too difficult.
- Could you draw a few section views of an object on this paper quiz?
Civil Engineer
It was a brief process. They asked about my college experience and time there. Also, they asked about the projects and extracurriculars I'm involved in. The interviewers were nice and I got the job.
- What clubs are you a part of?
- Tell me about your college experience.
- Can you tell me about your projects?
