First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at H&H.
Intern
It was an in-person interview with about 40 minutes of behavioral questions. I spoke with the intern manager, a team member, and the group lead. They asked about my resume experiences, extracurriculars, previous experience, leadership experience, problem-solving skills, and professional goals. It was pretty conversational and covered the usual stuff.
- What extracurriculars have you been involved in?
- What is your previous experience?
- Can you share your leadership experience?
Structural Intern
I met the interviewer at my college's career fair. It was pretty straightforward, we talked for about 5 minutes and they told me to follow up with HR. Then there was an interview with 3-4 team members and they made an offer after that.
- What makes you want to work on bridge design?
Marketing Coordinator
I applied for a role in NYC and about a week later I was invited for an in-person interview. It felt very awkward and unprofessional from the start, as their body language suggested they weren't interested in hiring me even before the first question. The hiring manager seemed unprepared and didn't have any questions for me. Her boss asked the questions, but she kept interrupting me while I was answering. The most unprofessional part was when the two interviewers started having a separate conversation about people they knew from my previous company, asking each other if they had spoken to a particular engineer and how he was doing. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. Overall, they were rude and it felt like a complete waste of time.
- Is the person you're referring to still employed at your former company?
- Can you describe in detail your responsibilities and duties?
Civil Engineer
It was a brief process. They asked about my college experience and time there. Also, they asked about the projects and extracurriculars I'm involved in. The interviewers were nice and I got the job.
- What clubs are you a part of?
- Tell me about your college experience.
- Can you tell me about your projects?
