First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guy Carpenter.
Risk Analyst
The Hong Kong branch handled the mainland business and occupied half a floor in a Quarry Bay office building. The interviewer, a mainland woman, seemed resentful. She kept frowning at my resume and asked me three times why I was interviewing for a junior position with three years of experience. She then stated that their risk analyst role isn't what I might think, but rather a job level based on investment bank standards. She also mentioned that I'd likely work until midnight daily for the last three months of the year and asked if I could manage that. The interview concluded with her frowning and asking me to stay for a 1.5-hour written test.

Risk Analyst Intern
The interview was fair, the first interview was like HireVue where you can redo your answers but don't do it too many times because they will notice how long you took to finish the questions.
- Describe a time you worked in a team and discuss the outcome.
Risk Analyst
The interview process involved a 2-hour Zoom call, broken down into five 30-minute interviews. The interviewers were all very pleasant and focused more on getting to know you and discussing your resume rather than posing challenging questions.
- Do you work well in a team?
