First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guy Carpenter.
Actuarial Analyst
It started with some ice breakers, then an introduction that included a background check. After that, I had a fit interview and a technical interview. Finally, there were some questions and answers. It was all done over Microsoft Teams via live video.
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
Actuarial Analyst
It was a quick process, the whole thing took about a week. There were 2 interviews. The first one was with the lead actuarial analyst from the team. Then the second interview was with the head brokers of the division and some other senior actuaries. The interviews were tough, but the interviewers were really approachable and friendly, and they gave feedback super quickly.
- Can you explain diversification to someone who isn't technical?
Actuarial Analyst
The interviewers were really nice and approachable. The company has some seriously smart actuaries. They asked some challenging questions, but they were helpful and gave me pointers. The process was pretty simple: I had one HireVue self-recorded video interview and then three Zoom interviews with six different actuaries.
- What's the probability that the largest number rolled is r when a fair 6-sided die is rolled n times?
