& Process

The interview process had 3 stages. I interviewed with the head of the Account Management department in the UK and department heads in EMEA, all via Zoom.

So I had this phone interview and honestly, I thought the reviews I read online were exaggerated, but wow, this was genuinely the worst phone interview ever. The recruiter called late, and for the first couple of minutes, she kept asking how my day was going, like she didn't know what else to say. When I brought up their advertising units and how unique I thought they were, she told me I was mistaken about what GumGum actually does. Then, she immediately backtracked and said I was right, but that she was new. The rest of the call was pretty rough too. She mentioned I'd have a call with the hiring manager later that week and we set a time. A few hours later, I followed up with an email to see if she'd scheduled it and to get confirmation. I didn't hear back until about 5 minutes before the scheduled call, when she called a few times while I couldn't answer, then sent a sharp email asking about the missed interview and any confusion. I decided to pull out of the hiring process after that.

The whole process took a little longer than normal because right after my phone interview they filled the last slot of the open position. However, Human Resources was so nice and said they should be hiring again soon and she would circle back. Sure enough I heard from her a month later, scheduled a an interview and an in person interview and was offered the job a few days later. Everyone gave a great overview of the company and culture. So happy I made the move!
