There were 5 interviews total. It started with a recruiter chat, then two interviews with team members, followed by one with the skip level manager, and ended with an interview with a cross-functional partner. The interviews were mostly focused on my work history, except for the one with the partner, which was a live case study.

Had a first call with a recruiter. Then a second call with a senior manager over zoom. After that, a third, 3-hour zoom call with 6 employees, including the hiring manager. I felt like there was a big difference in what the hiring manager wanted versus what the senior manager and hiring manager were looking for. The interview vibe was just weird - I've never left an interview feeling like I wouldn't want to work with anyone I spoke to, but that's how I felt after these talks. You could really feel the company's growing pains during our conversations.

I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn, and we scheduled a phone screen. After that, I had a 1-hour 1:1 with the hiring manager. Then, I was given a project to complete. The final round consisted of four 45-minute interviews. The whole recruiting experience was quite dissatisfying due to poor communication. For instance, I wasn't informed about the timeline after submitting my project for the third round, and it took nearly two weeks to hear back. Similarly, after my final interviews, there was no follow-up from the recruiter to discuss next steps or timing, not even a quick virtual recap or an email. I received a brief rejection email almost a week later without any explanation. My request for more detailed feedback also went unanswered. While I still think Guild is a good company, this negative recruiting experience has made me reconsider future opportunities there and I plan to share my experience with others.
