Guidepoint Research Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

The Guidepoint interview started with a phone screen, and the next day I got an email for an in-person interview. I met with six people, one every half hour for the first two hours. The interviewers were research managers who generally asked the same questions, each starting with 'I don't know what the last guys talked to you about so why don't we start with your background.' Some of them seemed disengaged. After that, there was an hour-long, timed mock project. I had three options for requests and had to pick one. The project involved a client request to learn about a specific industry or company, and I had to find the best-suited person globally for a role related to it. This involved Googling people and using LinkedIn to identify qualified individuals, essentially acting as a recruiter. Following the project, I met separately with the head of global strategic search and a recruiting consultant. The global head reviewed my mock project and resume, grilling me on my motivation for the position and questioning why someone with my background would be interested. Frankly, he made me question my desire to continue, which is odd since the managers mentioned they were 'in immediate need of analysts.' Finally, the recruiting consultant asked about my day, my thoughts on the process and the research analyst role, then took my application and left.

i arrived around 11 and finished up around 345. the people i met were really great and easy to talk to. mostly, the interview was informal, they just wanted to see if i'd be a good fit and vibe with the team. there was a more formal, technical part though, where i had to do a mock research project.

I submitted my application online and first had a phone chat with someone from HR. Next, I did a skype call with two research managers. After that, I went to the Guidepoint office for an onsite interview. There, I met with 4 people, including the two research managers from before and an HR person. They were all pretty nice and mainly asked about my resume, why I wanted to work there, and what I hoped to get out of the job. They then gave me a mock project to do with a deadline. I got an offer about a week after finishing the project, but I turned it down because of another offer. The office seemed like a cool place to work though.
