Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guesty.
Professional Services Consultant
I went through the interview for the Professional Services Consultant job at Guesty and it was a really good one. They were organized and clear from the start. The HR folks kept me in the loop and told me what to expect. The interviewers were cool, friendly, and seemed genuinely interested in me. They asked good questions that made me feel good and I learned a lot about the job and the company vibe. Guesty seems to really care about finding the right people while making sure candidates feel good about the process. I’d suggest Guesty if you want a hiring process that’s as nice as the job seems.
- Share a story about when you did extra to assist a client.
- Tell me about a time you rapidly acquired a new skill for a client's requirement.
- What's your approach to dealing with feedback or criticism from clients or your colleagues?
Professional Services Consultant
I got an email to set up an interview, but when the time came, nobody from Guesty showed up or reached out. After I emailed them, they finally replied the next day and had me schedule another interview. It took almost two weeks to get it confirmed, which was about a month after I first contacted them. When the interview did happen, the interviewer was late, and then started having Zoom issues, unsure how long the call would last. I felt like she just scheduled the call to cover herself for missing the first one, because she didn't take notes and didn't ask me any questions. She even interrupted me to scold her puppy mid-answer and then spent the rest of the interview cuddling it. Even though I'm usually pretty relaxed about informality, it was clear she wasn't paying attention to anything I said. I got a lengthy rejection email saying 'it's not you, it's us.' In the end, the effort wasn't worth the outcome.
- Can you give me a rundown of your resume?
- Could you briefly explain what our company is about?
- How would you describe your approach to onboarding?
Professional Services Consultant
I had high hopes for this company, but the hiring process was a huge letdown. Initially, I was told there would be two interviews and a take-home assignment. After completing those successfully, I faced a surprise interview with a new director. Despite being told an offer was forthcoming and having my references checked, the position was suddenly eliminated or offshored, it was not entirely clear. Additionally, they never got back to me by the times they promised, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. This process wasted a significant amount of my time, and I felt misled and undervalued. Be cautious if you decide to pursue an opportunity here.
- Can you describe the implementation process at your current company?
