Security Supervisor
The interview process for this security supervisor role was quite unexpected. It happened right after a long night shift with the same company. The whole thing felt really unorganized, and the scenarios they brought up were not realistic at all. There were only two applicants, and I thought I had a good chance after the other person dropped out. However, I was told to wait for about two months, supposedly waiting on the current supervisor. I figured I wasn't getting the job. Then, on the same day the previous supervisor left, they promoted someone else to supervisor for a different position.
- What would you do if a serious employee issue arose, you informed me (the site manager), and I declined to take action?
Site Supervisor
I initially contacted the company after seeing an advertisement for available positions with hourly pay ranging from $11 to $14. I was instructed to visit the office and complete an application, which I did a few days later. I wore a suit and tie and came prepared with my qualifications. When the HR representative noticed I had a Bachelor's degree, she seemed impressed. I spoke with the branch manager about the position I'm currently in, and I was basically offered the job on the spot, pending a client interview. The whole process was quite straightforward, and I was only at the office for about 3-4 hours. All things considered, it was a pretty good experience since I pretty much secured a job.
- What do you consider your qualifications for this position?
Security Officer
This was a really intrusive interview process. I'd seen info on it before, but wanted to update it based on my recent experiences. I just got a judicial counseling job with law enforcement and inmates, and that vetting process was less intrusive than Guardsmark's. I did a polygraph for my new job, but it was way less invasive than the 560+ questionnaire Guardsmark made me do, and more practical. My new job deals with real threats, though. Seriously, run from security companies that ask for personal medical info about you or your family, or psych evals that have nothing to do with a low-level security job. Since graduating, I've had way better job opportunities than a $10/hour gig where a company thinks they need to vet people like Guardsmark does, and they're not even efficient about it. My new role lets me work in law enforcement, even the FBI, and that process, to be super clear, is less intrusive than Guardsmark's. It's not even a hard interview, just unnecessary and inefficient.
- What meds are you on right now?
- Are those meds for anxiety and depression?
- Are any of your family members taking medications?
Security Supervisor
it was a sit down meeting room discussion between me and the security manager and the account manager. about all aspects of security at this location. but the job went to a very pretty woman that did not know much about securtiy.
