First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guardian Life.
Marketing Manager
It started with an HR chat, then I met with the hiring manager, and finally, I had a session with the team. The whole thing was pretty laid back and everyone was super nice. Most of the questions were about my background and why I got into insurance marketing.
- How do your personal values and professional traits make you a good marketer in life insurance, and how did those traits shape how you engage with customers?
Integrated Marketing Programs Manager
I applied through Workday, which was pretty straightforward. It took about two weeks for HR and the hiring manager to get back to me to set up an interview. The hiring manager was a bit late for our video call and seemed distracted, checking emails. She only asked me to talk about my background and then kept saying, 'yeah but have you...' She didn't ask anything else. It was radio silence for almost three weeks until the recruiter called to say I didn't get the job. Even though the process was messy, I did appreciate getting the news over the phone instead of an email.
- Could you share some details about your professional background?
Digital Marketing Manager
The recruiter didn't show up for the scheduled Zoom interview, even after sending a reminder. They also didn't respond to any follow-up messages. This was a really unusual experience compared to other interviews.
