Unprofessional long drawn out process. Applied for job, immediately got invite for assessment and got an interview. Got an interview at the first of month, went well and I was given praises for my experience. Then was told it would be until end of month for decision. Then at end of month got a second interview request. Had interview, interviewer told me after second interview it will take a few more weeks for decision to come back. A week later, I checked, my status and it says they weren't going to move forward with an offer. Didn't even receive an email notification or phone call. I had to check myself. How professional.

Only 2 interviews happened, one with the recruiter and one with the Team Lead and Operation Manager. The recruiter interview was just an overview of the position (PTO, Salary, Benefits etc.). The interview with the TL and OM had 6-7 behavioral questions. The interview was great, very nice people. Questions weren’t anything that one could not answer. Very quick hiring process, everything from the first interview to the offer being made happened within 3 weeks.

The interview process was quite lengthy, starting with a phone interview in January and continuing over several months. It included an initial phone interview, a second phone interview, a panel video interview with the proposal team, another panel interview with the hiring manager and underwriting manager, and finally an in-person interview at the Bethlehem, PA office with the hiring manager and her team. During the in-person stage, they put three words on a whiteboard (team, company, industry) and asked me to rank them and explain my reasoning. The interviewers then shared their own rankings and expressed surprise at my choices, which felt like a loaded question focused on their preferences rather than my rationale. Despite my 15+ years of experience, two proposal writers with minimal experience grilled me on theoretical questions about teamwork and collaboration. A particularly unprofessional moment was when the male proposal manager joked about my new, smaller puppy being a 'rat' after I shared a personal anecdote. The process dragged on, with the hiring manager promising to be in touch within a week after the final interview, but after waiting and multiple attempts to follow up via email with the recruiter and hiring manager, I received a late response stating the hiring manager was out of office. By mid-May, I felt I was being strung along and decided to withdraw my candidacy, realizing how unprofessional the entire experience was and how glad I was not to have been offered a job there.
