Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guardian Life.
Customer Service Associate
The interview process was pretty easy. They use the STAR method for scenario-based questions about your past experiences. I was told I'd hear back about the next steps. I checked the portal for an offer update, but nothing yet. They mentioned they'd let me know within a week about the final decisions. Hoping I get the job!
- What makes you a good candidate for this company?
- What unique values would you bring to our team?
Customer Care Representative
It was a group interview with the recruiter, hiring managers, and three other candidates. This was new for them, and they asked us to anonymously rate the process on Glassdoor. I found it less nerve-wracking than a one-on-one interview because multiple people were evaluated simultaneously. Getting the same question asked to each candidate gave me extra time to think about my answer. The questions were standard for this type of role. While I don't dislike the format, I'm concerned it might be challenging for some candidates to fully showcase their abilities. Many people are hesitant to speak up in group settings and highlight their achievements. Maybe that's something for a later stage. Overall, I have a positive impression so far and hope they consider me further.
- What's your approach to dealing with an impatient person?
Customer Service Representative
interviewed with local manager then with another manager in NY. Very thorough. The only down fall was the salary they offered was very low. They also took me through the building and let me listen on calls to see how environment was.
- What are your 5-year goals?
- How would you de-escalate an angry client?
