OLX Brasil's hiring process was clear and upfront. First, they screened my resume for fit with the role and company culture. Then, I did online tests on behavior and tech fundamentals. After that, I had an interview with the People team about my background, motivations, and alignment with OLX's values. Next, I interviewed with managers and tech leads to assess my reasoning, software engineering knowledge, and learning potential, discussing past experiences. Some roles also have a practical case study, focusing on how you think rather than just the outcome. Finally, I got feedback, and if approved, moved to onboarding, where they introduce the culture, team dynamics, and development resources. The whole process was handled with clarity and respect, focusing on a candidate's potential.

The first stage was at the company's headquarters, with about 9 candidates. The recruiter started by talking about the company and then gave us a tour. Back in the room, we had personal introductions, followed by personal and group dynamics. We split into three groups to work on a case related to company values, and each group had to present in front of everyone. After that, we took two tests (logical reasoning, Portuguese language, and writing). This whole thing lasted about 3 hours, and then we were sent home. A few days later, they called to say I passed to the second stage, which was to create a video following the script and guidelines sent via email. After sending the video, I heard nothing back, which I found disrespectful because even if the answer was negative, no candidate likes to wait without getting any feedback or even a thank you for participating, considering the time and creativity spent.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • When each of us received an envelope containing company values, we had to immediately state how each value applied to our personal lives. We could only open the envelope right before speaking, meaning we had no time to think or prepare.

The hiring process was quite interesting and pretty fast. I applied through their website and about two weeks later, they contacted me for two case studies which they emailed and gave me a week to complete. After sending my answers, they got back to me a few days later to invite me for an interview the same week. The office environment is super comfortable, even the receptionist was cheerful! In the interview, they were friendly, both the HR interviewer and the supervisors from the area I was applying for. The interview was quick and simple, not complicated and very relaxed. I received the result two business days after the interview.
