I initially applied online and then got a response within a week for a one-way recorded interview. After that, I spoke with a recruiter who introduced me to the company and the role. Next, I was given a take-home test: create a minigame in Unity based on a design doc. Once I submitted that, I had an interview with a lead game developer where they asked about my process and past experience. Then, they gave me a second part of the test, asking me to add a new mechanic to the minigame I had already made. After submitting the second part, I was rejected fairly quickly without any feedback. The whole thing took just over a month.

The interview process was smooth. First, I submitted recorded videos answering some basic questions about myself. Then, a recruiter contacted me to set up a 1:1 meeting. If I passed that, I moved on to an HR representative who forwarded my information to the development team for an interview.

It starts with a quick chat with HR, mostly to go over the job and answer any initial questions. Then, you'll have about a week to complete a small Unity project to show you know your stuff. If they like your project, they'll set up an in-person interview. During that, you'll answer some questions, get a tour, meet some of the team, and have lunch. I had to follow up with HR a couple of times to get updates after not hearing anything for a couple of weeks.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Some logic questions were asked during the in-person interview, which was pretty casual.
  • Can you provide an example of working with a team?
  • Can you provide an example of a conflict you had with a team member?
