I applied through my school's career services website. A few days later, I got a cold call around 6:30pm asking about me and why I was interested in Greysteel. Then, I interviewed at their Bala Cynwyd office. The interviewer was late and acted condescending. The interview was basically the same as the phone call, with a few case questions that they walked me through, though they seemed hesitant. I was offered a full-time summer and/or part-time school-year position, both unpaid.

The interview process was fair but definitely challenging. It started with a phone call from HR, followed by another phone interview with one of the analysts. The third stage involved an in-office assessment that focused on underwriting and modeling, and it lasted for about 4-5 hours. If you passed that, the next step was an in-person interview with several analysts and directors. The entire process spanned over 4 weeks. They clearly invest significant time and effort in evaluating and selecting qualified candidates.

It took three weeks in total from when I first got in touch to when they made a decision. I was reached out to by the HR Director on LinkedIn. Then I had a phone call with the HR Director, and they told me about the company and the role. After that, there was a 1-hour video call with two TCs. The next step was an in-person interview with a senior broker in Brooklyn. This last interview felt disorganized; the interviewer asked if I had any questions for him almost right away, even though he had only asked me one question. The interviewer also asked me if I saw any 'red flags' with the job. It was a bit of a strange interview because it seemed like they were trying to discourage me from taking the job while I was interviewing for it.

I sent in my resume and cover letter and got an interview within 24 hours. Had a few phone interviews over two weeks, and they made an offer. The contract negotiation took about a week, but we couldn't agree on terms, mainly the split. The process was very professional, and the team seemed solid, but it wasn't the right fit for me. I'd recommend it to people with less experience.
