Art Director
the interviewer seemed really distracted, constantly checking his phone. His secretary also kept interrupting with papers, and he just didn't seem that into the interview.
- What makes you the right candidate for this role?
Art Director
Applied online. Then had a phone screen. Then the first round was an in-person meeting with the recruiter, followed by a presentation to the team and a panel. The second round involved a one-on-one with a copywriter who is a partner. Then I had one-on-one meetings with the VP, creative director, and then the EVP creative director. Finally, I was introduced to the brand team and agency departments.
- Are you comfortable with client presentations?
Art Director
Met with Janene Jones who was dressed more casually than expected. She was generally nice but started to critique my work before I could finish speaking. Her attitude was more than I anticipated from an adult towards a recent graduate. Her communication skills were poor, and she never replied to my email, instead having her coworker Anna Brown handle all communications. I was told I'd hear back in 2 days, but it took 2 weeks. This delay caused me to decline the offer. Poor HR communication is a big negative for me. I also heard they sometimes fire people and then rehire them shortly after.
- Can you explain your reasoning behind this design choice?
