First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Greenpeace.
Communications Specialist
I went through 3 interview panels with people from different parts of the organization and also had to complete an assessment. The assessment involved reviewing communications from the Executive Director and explaining how I would improve them.
- Given the number of non-profits available, what makes you want to join Greenpeace?
Communications Director
The process was great from beginning to end. They clearly communicated the timetable and objectives. The interview itself was very human and friendly. No problems at all. Even though I didn't get the job, I was impressed with how it was handled.
- What is the resolvable extent of the climate change issue?
Communications Specialist
Had a quick phone call with HR, then they set up video interviews which were done in person before the pandemic. Red Flag #1: One interviewer was on video even though she was in her office down the hall the whole time. Red Flag #2: The condescending looks an inexperienced interviewer kept giving others was unprofessional. Red Flag #3: They seemed confused about the role's expectations and didn't have a clear idea of what they wanted, which would be frustrating. Red Flag #4: They were unnecessarily snobby when I asked about their approach to new situations, making me think they believe they are doing God's work.
- What's the relationship between traditional and social media?
