First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Greenhouse Software.
Sales Development Representative
I had a recruiter call, then a take-home assignment, and then got rejected. The take-home felt like a free labor scam, especially since I was researching real leads and contact info for them. That really bothered me. The recruiter call was pretty standard, but they dodged specifics about the role, expected 25 meetings a month from SDRs (which I think is too much), and left almost no time for questions at the end.

Sales Development Representative
So after the initial recruiter chat where they asked me about my interest in sales and the company, I got this 'assignment.' It was supposed to take 2 hours, but honestly, it took way longer because I didn't have fancy tools like ZoomInfo or SalesNav to speed things up. The task was to research a company and target potential prospects based on their ideal customer profile. I had to pick a company and explain why, then choose five people to target within that company and explain my choices and their titles. I also had to write demo request emails to one of them and figure out how to respond if they said 'timing isn't right.' Basically, it was a real SDR job simulation, and they got free marketing materials. If they gave this to all 200+ applicants, they'd have a ton of company research done for them. The craziest part is they wanted it done in two days. I kept asking about my application status, and the recruiter kept saying there were internal issues. In the end, an internal person got the job. It's pretty disappointing coming from a company like Greenhouse.

So I applied online through their website and got a call pretty quick. Then I had a one on one with HR. After that, I talked to the Sales Director. Then I had to do a take-home assignment that was due in a few days. It was about testing my research skills and my thought process on some decisions. I'd say be thorough with your answers. Finally, I had an on-site interview with like 8 people from Greenhouse Software. It was long, but I got to learn a lot about the company and met people from different departments. I'm excited to be part of the team!
