After a referral, a recruiter called to set up a phone interview. Then, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. A planned third phone interview with a founder was cancelled due to illness. The final stage was onsite interviews, where I met two team members, two other team members for a culture chat, the hiring manager, a founder, and the recruiter. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Recruiters responded super fast to emails, even letting me know an hour interview would only take 30 minutes and not to worry about it being cut short. They asked a lot of experience and situation questions, plus one case study. No trick questions, and the whole thing felt really welcoming. I was really impressed with the company and how they ran the interviews.

I went through about four stages of interviews for the Implementation Manager position. It started with an initial phone screen with a recruiter, followed by a secondary phone screen with the Senior Manager of Customer Success. Then I had a take-home assignment where I had to create a 30/60/90 day plan. The final stage was a 3-hour virtual interview with five separate sessions. I had a product demo with a Recruiting Coordinator, a more in-depth discussion about the role with the Senior Manager of CS again, a dive into my management experience with the Director of Talent Acquisition, a "culture add" chat with the Sales Development Manager and Product Manager, and finally, a wrap-up with the Recruiter. Although I didn't get an offer, the recruiter offered a feedback call. The interview process was really structured and focused on "Tell me about a time..." questions. It was a positive experience overall, and everyone was friendly. It can be tough to schedule around a current job, and the time difference between Mountain Time and New York also made scheduling a bit challenging.

This was a really slow, unprofessional experience. First, there was a phone screen with HR about the job and pay. Then, a few days later, a call with the hiring manager. After that, I got a take-home assignment that took about 3-4 hours. I submitted it, and then they just went silent for three weeks. Three weeks later, they finally emailed saying they wanted to move forward and scheduled a 2.5-hour interview session, which was weird because the email said only 1.5 hours. The actual interviews were short – I met four people in three 30-minute sessions. The worst part? After a month of interviews and the assignment, they called to say the compensation they mentioned initially was wrong and way lower than their budget. They waited 30 days to tell me this! Also, the hiring manager went on sabbatical in the middle of the process and I only found out after 30 days, along with the compensation issue. Nobody even talked about the take-home assignment, which makes me wonder if they just used it for their own analysis. They said the hiring manager would be back in two weeks, extending the process to six weeks. Then, three days later, they emailed saying they chose another candidate because of their better 'cross-functional communication strategies.' It's pretty funny coming from a company that couldn't even get their own compensation communication straight. Definitely the WORST interview experience I've ever had.
