First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Grass Valley.
Full Stack Developer
It was a pretty standard interview. First, they asked questions about the theory, and then there were coding challenges, specifically in React. The whole process took a while, but it was okay, the atmosphere was alright. I don't really know what else to add, but I guess they want me to write more.
- Questions about JavaScript and React theory.
- Coding challenges involving React.
Test Engineer Intern
it was a smooth two-step interview process. The first step was with HR, and the second was with the team members. The test engineering team members are helpful and friendly, and they will assist you in transitioning well. The HR was also friendly and provided all the necessary options to join the team.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What are you interested in?
Solutions Engineer
It was a pretty straightforward process, exactly how they laid it out initially. It kicked off with a first chat to see if it was a good fit, then moved on to a technical interview and assessment, and wrapped up with a final call with the VP of the business unit. They did a really good job with it.
- Can you tell me about your experience in this domain?
- Are you knowledgeable about the technical standards for the product areas you'd be working with?
- What's your understanding of the operational workflows for the product areas you'd cover?
Software Engineer
The hiring process felt really disjointed. A senior dev reached out to me directly, not a recruiter, so I had a technical interview and a code project before the initial recruiter chat. They said they were trying new things with hiring, but it seemed like that wasn't supposed to happen. The recruiter was super positive, almost like I was already hired, but you could tell they were stressed about the chaotic process. Then, someone else accidentally sent me the personality assessment, which was supposed to be the last step. The recruiter called the next day to say I got the wrong one and asked if I'd completed it, which was weird since they said I shouldn't have gotten it at all. They said they'd check if it was the right one anyway. A few days later, I got a rejection email, no apology for the assessment mix-up. It felt like I was caught in some internal company drama.
- Can you explain object-oriented programming?
- What would you expect to be asked about C#?
- There was a personality assessment to see how you'd fit with the team.
