Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Grant Thornton.
Associate
The process involves an assessment, an HR interview, and a manager interview. We'll discuss your knowledge of the department, company, industry, sector, and function. We'll also cover your skills, personal quanta, and intelligent quanta. You'll tackle hypothetical scenarios designed to mirror the job's daily tasks. Just so you know, we don't reuse candidate exercises or share them outside the hiring committee.
- What's your motivation for seeking this position?
Senior Associate
The interview process had 2 rounds. They started with a resume review, then went into case-based questions. They really wanted to test my basic knowledge and asked a lot of questions directly from my resume. It was important to be confident when answering.
- What are the risks and controls associated with the P2P process?
Senior Associate
I had an online interview in Australia with a very junior senior manager from Grant Thornton's sustainability team. She was super aggressive right from the start, asking tons of questions without even explaining the role or the company, which felt really vague. Then there was this case study assessment online with 9 people, 3 of whom were internal. It was pretty wild because one of the internal folks just sat there smiling the whole time, not contributing at all, and we only had an hour to write 2-3 pages. After that, some of us who did the case study talked and we all thought the whole thing felt sketchy. It was pretty obvious they already had someone in mind for the job, and this was just a formality. None of the internal people were even in the right field. Honestly, don't bother applying for jobs here, they've already picked someone regardless of how good you are.
