The interview process spanned a few weeks, involving a phone screen, one-on-one interviews, and a panel interview. It was worth the wait. The interview questions were STAR-based and the interviews were fast-paced. My advice is to be positive in your responses. A helpful hint is to look at Grainger Principals to formulate your interview strategy.

Behavioral Other

I applied for an Account Manager job at Grainger and heard back from a recruiter. Before any interviews, they had me answer 14 questions by email. The questions were badly written with grammar mistakes, and many needed long answers. I answered them anyway. A few days later, I got rejected. I don't get how a screening can happen without talking to the candidate. It felt impersonal and like a lazy way to screen people. Talking would have been better to show my skills and interest. It's a bummer, but I know processes differ. This doesn't mean I'm not qualified. I'll keep looking for jobs with a better, more personal screening.

Behavioral

I applied for 2 roles at Grainger and spoke with a recruiter for each. For the first role, I was told about the next steps but the position was filled within days. For the second role, I thought the interview went really well and made it to the next round. We discussed what the next steps would be, but then I got a standard email saying thanks for your time. I didn't realize Grainger valued internal referrals so much. I've worked with people who now work at Grainger before, but I wanted to get this job on my own. I'm hoping to get some feedback on how I can improve my interviewing skills.
