Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gorilla Logic.
Senior Web Developer
The interview experience was really nice and I learned a lot. It was in English as expected and the questions were direct. It was a two-step process: first, an English level check, then a skill level check. They sometimes do a 3rd round with the client, but not for entry-level.
- What is the difference between promises and observables?
Senior Web Developer
I was contacted in January due to my CV submission last year. I had a brief HR chat, followed by a HackerRank test for Sr Web Developers, which I passed. Then came the tech interview, which was quite different from what the recruiter had described. This surprised me, as I'm not an expert in any specific JS framework. I didn't pass, and knew it immediately. The process lacked transparency because the recruiter never mentioned the need for expertise in Angular, React, or Vue. Although I received feedback on the tech interview, which is good, they pointed out areas for improvement that never came up during the interview itself. Overall, it felt disorganized and unclear, and I wouldn't recommend it.
- Show a simple example of array deconstruction in JavaScript.
Web Developer
The interview process was great! The first interview involved discussing my background with the technology for the role and my job expectations. They were flexible with scheduling meetings to fit my availability. The second interview was a 1:1 technical Q&A, covering advanced JavaScript concepts and a specific JS framework relevant to the position.
- Could you share some of the web development projects you've completed?
- Can you explain what Hoisting means in JavaScript?
- What are some of the new features introduced in ES6?
