Submitted CV, then had an HR chat about my background, when I can start, and salary. Then I got a link for online tests, like HackerRank. I didn't make it past that because the first problem was LeetCode style, and I'm not sharp on those anymore, especially with AI tools now. The next one was about an Azure architecture scenario. It was cool, but you had to record yourself explaining your plan. Thinking about the salary, I felt it wasn't worth it to keep going since they were basically asking for Architect-level thinking for a Developer job. Heard from others they lowball offers too, making it a mid-level pay for a senior role. So, I bailed.

Got referred to the CEO by someone I knew. Then talked to the COO, CTO, and eventually the Director of Recruiting. Since I was from a different industry, the Director of Recruiting seemed uninterested, mentioning he already had 100 'qualified candidates'. We discussed my potential for 15 minutes. He said he'd get back to me in 3 days after checking with his C-suite. It took 3 weeks to get a rejection, which I found disrespectful given the long wait and the referral from the CEO. It makes the company look bad, especially if someone were in a desperate situation. It seems like they just post their 'company values' online without actually living them.

I had my first interview in September 2022, and then did 3 more interviews that same month to try and speed things up. After my technical interview, the interviewer seemed to have less technical knowledge than me, which was pretty basic. But for some reason, maybe jealousy, he marked me as Mid-level instead of Senior, even though I answered everything correctly and even left him with things he didn't know. That's how we started off badly. I was supposed to have a final interview with the client, but it never happened because they didn't have a project for me. They said it was because I wasn't 'Senior,' so they couldn't take me for the project they announced. I was applying for an open position, and they were supposed to have a project ready, but they didn't. Then, in September 2023, they contacted me again for a final interview for a project, but the salary offered was absurdly low. I just laughed and ignored them.
