First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gordon Brothers.
Business Analyst
The first step was an online interview, mostly focusing on behavioural and motivational aspects. After that, an in-person round involved an Excel test under significant time pressure, followed by a casual chat. While the people were friendly, the overall process seemed a bit disorganized.
- Could you explain your interest in this particular industry?
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Analyst
The whole interview process was super long, lasting 2 months. I had 4 interviews in total, with 3 being behavioral and 1 technical. The last interview with the COO was confusing; they asked tough technical questions even though the hiring manager said it would be a casual 'get to know me' chat and I didn't need to prepare anything. After all that, I didn't even get a rejection notice. I had to wait 3 weeks and email them myself, only to find out they'd already picked someone else.

Valuations Analyst
It was a process with four interviews that wrapped up in about two and a half weeks. You should anticipate questions specifically about inventory and some fundamental finance topics like calculating gross margins.
- What is your perspective on inventory levels for a product that has seasons?
- How do you find gross margins?
- Could you discuss inventory levels related to a seasonal product?
Staff Accountant
The interview process was very smooth, punctual, and respectful. The interviewer was friendly and flexible, providing clear instructions. They responded quickly to my questions and gave prompt feedback after the interview. They were also open to hearing about my previous interview experiences.
- What is your reason for leaving your present job?
